DB-25
DB-25 connectors are most often used on parallel ports.
DB-9
DB-9 Connectors are most often used on serial ports.
RJ45 and CAT5
RJ45 and Cat5 assemblies are used for control wiring in many designs. The 8-conductor cable is known as Cat5, and the connector is an RJ45 connector.
USB

An ATX power supply is a great choice for powering controllers as they supply very clean power. This is good as it eleminates potential problems that can be caused by other power sources, such as wall transformers.
